UW JAPANESE FESTIVAL 2018

Matsuri is UW Japanese Student Association’s most popular annual event, and the largest celebration of Japanese culture on campus. Unlike our other (fantastic) events throughout the year, Matsuri’s appeal extends beyond the UW community, inviting everyone of any age to come together and enjoy the festivities throughout the day.
This year, with our "Obake-Yashiki" (haunted house) theme featuring yokai and the transformation of the HUB Ballroom into a nighttime festival, you'll be fully immersed in Japanese culture.
Our main performer this year is truly unique. Aoyagi Bisen, a well-known calligrapher from Japan, will perform a signature live calligraphy painting! She’ll be working on a huge 12 feet long canvas, so this is definitely something you don’t want to miss.
